Karen Merk, LPPO, is an award winning Photographer based in Richmond Hill, Ontario, Canada. Merk Photography serves Newmarket, Aurora, Richmond Hill, York Region, and the Greater Toronto Area. In her portrait photography, Karen strives to reveal unique qualities in each individual; they are not just “headshots.” In her Interior/Exterior Design Photography and Fine Art Photography, Karen’s ongoing goal is to capture style and beauty. Karen’s work is found in private and public collections throughout Ontario. She published her first fine art book The France Collection based on a very inspiring trip to France and her photography has also been published in the well loved Decor/Travel/Food magazine, Dabble Magazine. Karen is a licensed member of the Professional Photographers Canada and has won several awards at juried competitions.

Karen is also the Director of the Photo Gallery Program, which brings photographic art to the community. Rooms With A View is another annual project that Karen champions to showcase fine art photography of talented York Region photographers. Always looking for ways to help her community, Karen will frequently donate fine art photographs or lend a hand on charitable committees. The annual Portraits of Giving exhibit allows Karen to celebrate the many people she has met along her adventures in photography and who provide a true source of inspiration.
